are you feeling me? we wouldnt need to make it any thicker, so it wouldnt effect the offset. do you see any problems this way? if you do, or dont understand let me know, and i will try and come up with a diagram of some sort.. That would have to be an awful thin nut........ I think using the rotor as a drill guide is probably the easiest way.... Any ideas on the "slide thru" stud...... If you were to put the rotor on the axel like you were ready to install it.
Turn it 45 degrees and drill 4 new holes. Then your axels would be drilled to match your new 114.3 rotors...... All you would have to do is add new studs Jay 1984 FB |
i think this would be the best idea.. but i think that a machine shop could probably do it for you .. so if anyone owns a machine shop or knows someone who does let me know. i think that is the most feisable idea yet.. spacers would set the rim out too far i think.. and using the rotor as a spacer would just spell trouble. so drilling the axles would be the best way.

my pa has a machine shop, but i dont know if he would be to keen on it, ill talk to him.....tell me exactly what you plan to have done?

i plan on having someone drill my axle shafts to the right bolt patern.. then i will get the custom rotors from the ebay guy. that way i will have the 4X114.5 or 114.3 or whatever it is. so the hard part will be getting someone to drill the axle shafts.

The key is having the axles drilled for the 4 x 114.3mm pattern rotors while on the car.
If you have to pull the axles to have them drilled, you might as well just convert to the GSL-SE axles. I don't know of any equipment that could drill those on the car with any degree of accuracy, without a drill guide. I'm interested to here what a machinist has to say! |

yeah but for those of us with axles out of the car it wouldnt be that hard to take the axle shaft out and send it to a machine shop.

I'd love to see the set-up for drilling these axles on a mill! Please post a photo, if you find anyone who can fixture and them on a mill.
I think it would be a breeze for a 5-axis mill, but these are expensive high end machines which command big $$ for use. Whereas a low $ three axis NC mill could make a drill template/guide. |

yeah no kidding those are nicer then the ones first posted....well worth your 350$ im sure....
but to me the fronts dont even looked tap'ed for the lugbolt....prolly just me.... damn now i want some....but i would go all out id get rotors, ss lines, new ceramic brake pads, new inner and outer berrings, and maybe new wheels....but i have to do other more important things before all that....sucks but "the show must go on" so to speak...let us know how they work people.... :AA: |
