Lee Lyons 01-11-06 09:17 PM

I just want to see some pics...do I here another "pic please" vote on the topic...

perfect_circle 01-11-06 09:22 PM

you have 4x110 correct?

GavinJuice 01-11-06 09:36 PM

are they steel or cast iron?

LongDuck 01-11-06 11:43 PM

That's a great price. You might want to consider doing your front wheel bearings at the same time by just putting new ones (and grease seals) on the new rotors when they're installed. You can pre-tension them on installation and then re-tension after about 100 miles of driving, and it saves the hassle of trying to get the old bearings out of the old rotors without damaging them, or damaging the old ones on reinstall to the new rotors.

I did it this way on mine, and am glad that I did. Those look nice,

Hyper4mance2k 01-12-06 02:41 AM

I can't wait to hear how they worked out.

Lee Lyons 01-12-06 08:21 AM

$154...thats really good for rotors...I think I'll have to look into that...need...well...want new rotors :)

ChasRX 01-12-06 08:28 AM

Looks great. I am very interested in their durability. I've been watching those on Ebay for the past year, now, as i think you can get them in colors, too (Black, gold, silver). If they hold up well, I'll get some to compliment my GSL rear axle swap / brake job! The price is nice.

Arockrx7 01-12-06 11:48 AM

yeah the price is great. I just spent $340 on the mazdatix rotors. no turning back now.

Eriks85Rx7 01-12-06 04:20 PM

Yes i have stock wheel size 4x110. They feel very sturdy should up well. Im getting new ball joints along with them. im going to be using semi metallic pads with them. Im about to go get the pads from advanced auto.

d0 Luck 01-12-06 04:29 PM

FYI cross drilled rotors won't be able to take abuse very hard like during track days or auto x since they are cross drilled after all. it reduces the rotors' structural integrity. they will eventually crack/warp over time. although for street use, i can't see why they won't last for a long time... ? i think if it's for the street, it should be fine and perform well.

if you want balanced performance and reliability, you would want to get slotted and dimpled rotors. similar look like cross drilled but the holes don't go through the rotors

jfachner72 01-12-06 04:52 PM

I am wondering if this company is making these rotors why cant they change the bolt pattern while they are doing it. 4x4.5 or or 5x4.5 even better..............

Let us know who the company is and maybe i can get some informatiion from them being a dealer...

If not maybe i can contact some of the rotor makers and see if they will custom drill rotors i cant see why not they have to drill holes anyway.

fo shizzle!

jfachner72 01-12-06 07:26 PM

I just spoke to the guy at OC and he is checking with his Tech's to see if we can buy rotors for the 12A cars with a 4x114.3 bolt pattern drilled in to them......

This might be the coolest thing ever.....

GROUP BUY BABY

perfect_circle 01-12-06 08:12 PM

that was quick turn around, im confused though, how many people have a 12a powered -Se? im gonna, but i didnt think it was that common

jfachner72 01-12-06 08:35 PM

the reason was ......

The 4x110 bolt patters sucks, so if we can get rotors with 4x114.3 bolt pattern then out wheel choices are almost endless......

Jay
1984 FB

Eriks85Rx7 01-12-06 08:38 PM

yay im starting a wheel revolution!

jfachner72 01-12-06 08:41 PM

"wheel revolution" Play on words?????

I will post after i hear back from him and i will try to get a group buy pricing.....

Jay 1984 FB

ChasRX 01-12-06 08:59 PM

Bah! I just need the stock "12A" 4 x 110 as I really like my ROH Snyper wheels =)

perfect_circle 01-12-06 08:59 PM

well could you see what he could do about the people who already have the gsl-se. i guess that wouldnt be hard though, they would already have plans for them, but make sure the order wouldnt be for exactly the same model.

jfachner72 01-13-06 02:24 PM

Ok here is the news......

I just spoke to David at OC and he said that he can custom drill the rotors in a 4x114.3 bolt pattern for us.

The only question he has is what is the size of the stud that we are putting in? I would assume we would all use the standard stud from our old rotors but i dont know how many MM's the studs are...Does anyone?

Lastly we are talking $180.00 plus shipping per set (yes thats fronts and backs) I think that is a deal.

Can someone help me out with the mm's of the studs so i can call David back?

I will keep you all posted.

Eriks85Rx7 01-13-06 02:56 PM

HEck yeah Wheel Revolution! I would prolly do this but i just got my rotors and dont have any other rims to bolt on at the moment.

Rx Seven 01-13-06 03:31 PM

How much would they charge to have both bolt patterns? Or would they do a custum set?

jfachner72 01-13-06 03:57 PM

I personally dont think that having 2 sets of holes in the rotor would be safe......

But from what i understand from Dave at OC they can drill to any bolt pattern you ask for....

perfect_circle 01-13-06 11:28 PM

well erik got his for 154, so i dont see how 180 is a good grou buy price....i my just buy mine seperate, since i just need them for an se.

boiler81 01-14-06 12:43 AM

Ok so for us newbees, would new rotors all the way around for a FB, (GSL) get us a 4x114 bolt pattern without further mods? Hell - the four to five lug adapters are $320 a set, and you still have the offset issue to deal with.
Isn't the GSL-SE bolt pattern 4x114?

GavinJuice 01-14-06 01:09 AM

i stumbled across a site a while ago that was either by cobra ford or roush and it was a brake research. it talked about how in every event where they replicated a warped rotor it was in fact pad media that was imbeded on the rotor itself. never was the rotor itself warped. i can't find the damn site and it's driving me nuts, shoulda bookmarked it. anyways it was all about different pad medias pros/cons and how to properly bed pads, a shitload of stuff was on this site. can't remember if i found it on here or somewhere else......

$180 for "Custom Drilled Rotors" is a deal and thats not the group buy price.....

I still need to let him know the stud size and tell him how many we would order to get a firm price...

Anyone know the stud size?

I will find out on monday.

I guess as long as there is enough meat on the rotors to drill into they can be drilled..

RRTEC 01-16-06 09:18 PM

Anyone know anything about BAER brand rotors? are they reliable?

aussiesmg 01-16-06 09:51 PM

Great article on the true definition of 'warped' rotors.

Lee Lyons 01-16-06 09:53 PM

I'm just interested in installed pics...I want to see what they look like on...I know what drilled and slotted rotors look like...

boiler81 01-16-06 09:55 PM

I'm interested in the group rotor buy also, but am unclear as to how many more wheel option are available for that pattern. I know there's only a couple wheel options (new) available for the 4x110.
Does the 4x114.3 bolt pattern have a lot more aftermarket wheel options, or is 5 lug a better way to go, to install after market wheels?

Brad
