Considerations for fuel pump
 

Hey Everyone once again,
I'm just looking for a cheap to midrange fuel pump. I'm using one universal one I bought at JC Whitney, but I'm looking for something a lil better than that but still in my price range. I'm doing a fuel system redo since my setup is old and probably gunked. My RX-7 has a 12a, nikki carb, and my uses are probably just normal driving with the occasional small local races. I plan to upgrade to a supercharger in the near future but once I rack up some cash. Anybody have some suggestions for my current use??

Carter 4070 its a little loud but a good pump for a performance carb. More than
enough for a stock nikki. You will need a regulator for the nikki.

not sure if it was originally gotten from RB or not but it was on a car i got from a friend quite some time ago. i've been running a facet pump with no regulator for several yrs now. it's bout as quiet as the stock pump. i figure it's rated at 6lb since that's what the holley requires.

I like the stock pump. But, if I was to migrate from it I'd probably go with a ProComp rotary pump of highest output and then a Holley low pressure regulator.

I've got an MSD external in-line EFI pump that I'm selling... `you'll need a return style regulator like a Malory 4309 to use it with a nikki though. BUT it's more than enough pump when you decide to go boosted. I was going to use it on my blowthrough set-up, but decided to go with a 2nd gen in-tank set-up instead. you can PM me if you're interested...... here's the type of pump, it's brand new still.

I like Carter fuel pumps. The way to make them quiet is to use a layer of rubber between the mounting bracket and the frame. A piece of old radiator hose is perfect to sandwich in there.
