Big Brake kit - It's a go!
 

I got all the parts I need to start now.
Paul just picked up another complete, running GSL-SE.
So I've got my spare set of struts! I won't get to yank them till next week, going to the Cleveland RX-7 meet this weekend, and Sunday doing a Intake manifold swap.
I talked to my machinest friend, and he is ready to spend the weekend making the whole thing.
Finnaly starting to get things done around here!

I got all kinds of friends here that are in the Fab/welding biz. But they want beer to do it, and if you know them the way I know them, they dont wanna start unles they drank all of it first, and that doesnt make for a quality part :D

Yah I'm pretty lucky, this one spends 99% of life sober, yay!
I do his computer tech stuff, and he does my machining, nice tradeoff :)

Denny - 11.75" Wilwood rotors and Wilwood 4 piston calipers.
I could do the 2nd gen conversion, but for all the time an effort involved why not go bigger and better.

If it works out well, I'm thinking a set of 13" rotors for fun, that way I can have brake rotors the size of stock first gen wheels, hehe

What is your plan of attack??? Are you just turning the -SE rotor to accept the wilwood's? IE cutting off the stock rotor from the hub?

Well if he is cutting the stock rotor/hub down from the backside to hold the Wilwood rotor, what would prevent him from cutting down a 12a rotor?

I think a potential problem is that the -SE rotors have the hub face 15mm further outboard. The caliper might interfere with the hub or with the wheel if the setup is done to a 12A rotor.

My main question is, will 13" wheels fit over the bigger brakes? And the answer to that is "I'll just have to find out!"

Cutting down the SE Hub to mate to the Wilwood rotor.
There are a few 13" rims that fit over the stock GSL-SE Brakes, so the Wilwoods will only work if you have them rims stick way out past the fender :)

Nothing like alcohol and machinery.
