^Yeah, but that **** is RIGHT! I mean, RRRRRIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHTTTT!!!! His is so damn overdone (not that thats a bad thing, lol). You could do it for WAY less than that, and it still be reliable.

I'd say what DF said. T04 turbo, standalone, and all supporting mods. I don't think I would use the -SE rearend though, at least not for long. It'll die really quick. Ford 8.8" would probly be a good investment.

^A solid axle is great, unless he wants to go around some corners.

You don't have to worry about the power going to the wheels, all of the high rpm launches, high rpm shifts is what kills a trans and rear end. And -SE rear end will last for a while. ****, I would just use the -SE rear end to see how long it will last. Just do some R&D while building this thing up. With the rear end, trans, etc.

Just my small opinion, and I plan on doing a project like this one day, except I will be using a 12a Turbo motor... just a little bit more unique that way.

Good luck.

Don't worry about it, or let it cause you grief, it's something you don't know about.

this guy had some1 else build his motor and do all the work.......and spent way to much money for only 355hp (imo)....not saying its bad its a dope car its jut to much money could have got a 3 rotor and made about the same thing for umm idk 16k cheeper......you dont have to spend alot of money to get to your goal for 400hp with the TII motor like every1 has said get teh right turbo and mods and a good stand alone and you will have it ez.......if you want to PORT your motor just go with a large SP and open up the exhaust port so it can breath and you will have 400ho wiht no problem.........just my 2cents

I didnt read the whole thread but I woudl say the most cost effective and reliable way would be to go swap in a RE. Yes it might cost a bit more at first but with a good turbo youll be making the same or more power than a 13bt easier.

I don't know 5k seems a little on the small side for 400hp. If you go junkyard parts and no namers yeah, but for new quality parts I don't think so.

Ask anyone who has done the swap and has a FB with 400rwhp and they will clear it up.

Here is a break down:
engine JDM 1400
Standalone 1000
Turbo 1000
Wastegate 300
BOV 200
IC 300
Clutch/PP 300
Fuel pump 100
Injectors/rail 300
Tranny 250
New pullies 100

That right there is over 5k and there are also other small things that need to be purchased such as boost gauge, wideband(if you plan on tuning), oil feed/drain lines, driveshaft modification, intercooler piping, tuning. The list goes on and on.

Just think about it and crunch the numbers...you will see. Hope this helps.
