680RWHP12A 08-05-06 01:50 AM

lol, you had me going there for a minute!! good one..

Jaime Enriquez 08-05-06 02:01 AM

That makes two of us...what a waste.

Naegleria_Fowleri 08-05-06 02:04 AM

Add a third to the mix. I was really hoping for some insane supercharged 12a or 13b or something. Eh... Oh well.

twinkletoes 08-05-06 04:10 AM

Add a another. Come on, you got to keep it rotary

trochoid 08-05-06 04:58 AM

Like it or not, hp is hp, the numbers are amazing. One should ask themselves, "Would I turn it down if I was offered the car, rotary or not?" I suspect very few would say yes.

The more insanely fast 1st gens out there the better, imho. Perhaps there is a bit of jealousy among the purists? Philisophically speaking of course.

Latin270 08-05-06 05:50 AM

Yea! I would take that car any day! :)

John64 08-05-06 07:38 AM

Disclaimer : Please keep your Rotary loyal comments to yourself, while some people think the rotary engine is the "soul" of the car, our customer thought differently, and wanted this done to his vehicle. All comments regarding anything other than serious questions about the car will not be read and deleted, so do not waste your time.

HeHe!

Not worth $25,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MattG 08-05-06 10:08 AM

Ill be honest Im a purist at heart, but im not a dummy, if someone did offer me this car I would take it.

I think it would be wired getting into an FB and not wondering if today was going to be the day that the wankel goes pop! lol

lostllama 08-05-06 10:28 AM

lol. that guy lives in idaho i met him he is a douche bag. i tryed talking to him at the last car show and he just walked by. we at idaho rotary :smiley_12 hate him and his raped :ky: car.

Kim's FB 08-05-06 12:57 PM

Hey guys I have a question. Don't flame me, I'm just a chick wondering :naughty:

This car putting out 439 HP and 443 Ft Lbs of torque is only doing 12's?
My hubbys car did 12's on his b18c5 (I remember because he got disqualified for hitting 12's and not wearing a helmet at route 66 raceway) and it's not as extravagant as that built supercharged Ford Cobra engine. Why is that? With such a power house you would think it would go faster than that. I asked Carlos the same question and his reply was, "It's a Ford" Smart ass!

Kim's FB 08-05-06 01:06 PM

Oh! I remembered something that I threw in his face for being a smart ass. That same day that he was racing, he got his ass handed to him by a rotary Starlet. It was a thing of beauty. Green light, and the Starlet got up in two wheels and made Carlos look as if he was standing still. :balls:

Anyways, sorry for jumping off subject.

immanuel__7 08-05-06 01:12 PM

Probably traction issues.....

The only reason I like rx7's are because of the engine. Otherwise they would be just another car, and I'm not much of a "car guy", but more of an "engine guy" and thus I would much prefer a stock 12a base model over a V8 swapped Rx7. I understand the allure of so much power and everything, though. I'm just not one of the people who would take this car.

That would make sense. With all that torque it probably spins forever being that the fb is so light.

no_name 08-05-06 01:57 PM

I bet with the motor in their the little FB gained a few hundred pounds lol. I would not buy such a car for more then 5 grand. If I would buy the car I would pull that wreched piston pusher out and swap in a rotary. I would basicly be buying the car for its clean boddy.

here here brother

84RX7'nSTi 08-05-06 03:03 PM

That is a really nice FB, rotary or not! :icon_tup:

With that kind of power, I can understand traction limited 12 second E.T.'s, however, I would expect more than 116 mph in the 1/4 mile (maybe low 120's) with such a good power to weight ratio.

Regardless, someone will be very happy when they buy it, I bet it is a blast to drive.

Mike

Directfreak 08-05-06 04:29 PM

I'd take it in a heartbeat. I would just change the color to something other than "arrest-me-Red."

lostllama 08-05-06 06:28 PM

he has slicks on all four tires i have wtch him race. its not the car.....

Hyper4mance2k 08-05-06 11:55 PM

I would deffinatly take that car. Then I'd sell the engine and build a rotary with the money.

snub disphenoid 08-06-06 12:24 AM

$24,500? Roflmao, an FD with that engine combo wouldn't get that much. Also, 439rwhp seems low for the build it has. 347 with 10psi on a Procharger? That's usually a recipe for ~500rwhp...

Jozay721 08-06-06 12:33 AM

its pullin such sucky e.t because like u guys said, the extra weight, the traction and the new 90% weight on front and 10% on the rear lol:)

fcdrifter13 08-06-06 12:42 AM

Ya because we all know a V8 is so much heavier than a rotary.
