Aftermarket Hoods?

I know there have been posts of people who have made hoods but is there anywhere or anyone that makes them? i was going to get one from 13BEEF but he is taking forever. Is there anywhere or anyone that you guys know of where i can buy one?

Mariahmotorsports.com has a fiberglass one with a duct.

other than that one. Im not a huge fan of that hood

Why cant you wait for 13BEEF's hoods. Those are the best hoods IMO. Very worth the wait

Me either. IIRC some company makes and or MADE a fiberglass OEM replacement. If I were you, like said above, I'd just wait it out. Nothing's going to compare, I'm sure, to 13BEEF's.

I know i love his vented hood but i have had a shit hood for like 4 months waiting on him. anyone know how long?

Im not sure the function/look your going for, but you can do a lot yourself if your able. I ordered this cowl scoop off ebay made for a camaro. A drill, 10mm wrench, 10mm socket, rachet, and a trip to the home depot for bolts/washers was all I needed. Pictures not the best, but you hopefully get the idea

On a side note the reverse vented hoods have been designed with 1st Gen Rx7's in mind. The vent sits nicely behind OEM radiator fan/shroud and definitely makes a noticable difference to underhood temps :icon_tup:

Damn there is a huge diffrence in the quality of 13 BEEF's hood and the Home Depot hood. Not knocking anyone, I just think your better off waiting for that CF hood because those hoods 13 BEEF has are sweeeet! :icon_tup:

I LOVE 13BEEFs hood! I just need one soon!

rolfs_7 09-14-06 02:12 PM

+1 for 13 beef!!! damn!

twinkletoes 09-14-06 03:26 PM

It takes time to make a nice quality cf hood and thats what 13beef is making. He is very talented in what he does. It is very well worth the wait. I'm sure its not the only thing he does( making parts for our cars that is), He's busy and he just can't work on the hoods all the time.

twinkletoes 09-14-06 03:33 PM

Oh ya he's also making it vented so there's more time that is worth the wait and he's making it very clean by the looks of it. GOOD JOB on all of your work 13BEEF.

gonzz 09-14-06 07:30 PM

When will he be selling them? I'm also waiting.. Hopefully a few more months..

slayerx7 09-14-06 08:34 PM

Well no one said he has a mold to work with carbon fibre how am I supposed to compare to that?? MAN thats a nice hood!!! Absolutely beautiful! Can I revoke my pics now? Seeing them together is depressing... Hahaha
