will a 2nd gen intake manifold fit on a 12a?

i asked this awhile back becasue my dad has one laying around from his 13b that blew an apex seal. you have to realize, the 13b rotors are wider than 12a's. therefore the housings are wider, causing the motor the be longer. the headers arent interchangable, intake manifolds, ect. im sure you can make something custom.. but it probably wouldnt be worth it. your best bet, if you want efi, is to go with an after market setup made for a 12a (not sure if they make them though)

You can if you use an adaptor plate. You can buy them down here in oz for about $120 australian dollars.
I am using a T2 inlet and throttle body on my 12at.

I believe the Dellorto lower manifold that Racing beat makes/made would work on a 2nd gen with little modification. Or you can get one of those adapter plates, I've seen them for both 4-port and 6-port 13B to 12A conversions.

Yeah, theres a local shop here that makes and sells adapter plates, but it wouldnt bolt straight up.

ANyone got a price on how much the adapter plates cost? I wouldn't figure it would be hard to have one made up. There's not that much difference in the two manifolds. Maybe a 1/4" or 1/2" piece of steel plate w/some holes dirlled in it?

Can someone explain to me how this would work. If you take the stock intake off of a 13B and use an adaptor plate, you'd have a fairly striahgt forward EFI set-up for a 12A? Taking across the ECU and all other nessecary parts you could prolly up the power a slight bit, am i correct? Details please, please, PLEASE!!!!!

I have thought about doing this... might be a fair amount of work though as these types of projects usualy end up. I'd imagine a fair power gain thoguh.

Ill stop by the shop sometime when I have some spare time and ask them about their adapters and get you a price. I would imagine theyre fairly expensive though, as they are made in house out of aluminum. He had about 4 on the shelf for various port matches, but since they arent mass produced, they might cary a hefty price tag...

PS - I assume you want a 6 port -SE to bolt to a 12A?

Well the thing is this... I got a 13b 6port from an 87 sitting out in the garage. I've got a nice intake and headers... pretty much the only thing I would need to use it at this point is a GSL-SE oil pan.

I think it would be interesting If I could put that motor in just for the hell of it.

The exahust looks like it would be simple to make an adapater plate for. It's the intake that I'm worried about... looks like it's doable but a bit more complicated. I could probablay go to a machine shop, but I'm not sure what they would charge. maybe I'll stop by and ask tommorow if I get bored.

But if you could get a price I would appreciate it.
