there was a thread made a few weeks ago, i believe look for 20 min direct fire 2nd gen in search and you may find it good luck

It's not that simple using the 2nd gen ignitor. It can work, but there needs to be a circuit to interface between the 1st gen stuff and the 2nd gen ignitor. Search for "transistor trick". Enough info there to make your head spin. :)
For a simple/cheap solution, search for these following items: - 2GCDFIS - GM HEI - DLIDFIS There are a couple variations of each. The GM ignitiors are cheap and stocked in basically all autoparts stores. You can get a pair to fire 2 1st gen coils for leading or could go for 1 HEI with a 2nd gen leading coil. Or you could use the stock 1st gen ignitor to fire the 2nd gen coil (2GCDFIS). |
Thanks Kent,i'll do the research and then decide.

Good links.
Thanks, Jason |
no problem, also i forgot to post, you don't have to cut any wires like one of the links suggest, go by the "20 minute install" so you don't have to fuck up your 2g coil in case you ever decide to sell it or something :).
