1st gen tranny swap
Can a 1993 tranny fit a 12a engine and if so how much modification is involved
|
...good question. For one thing...the clutch hydraulic system is different...the T/O bearing mechanism is different. You would need the Flywheel/clutch/pp, etc from the FD....plus making sure the rear counter weight is correct for balance...
...unless you're planning over 300HP from your 12A, the '84-85 GSL-SE trans is fine. Much easier install....less $$ by far too! |
With work probably. I dont know for sure. BUT I have heard of FD guys swaping in TII trans. I figured that because you can easily make a TII trans fit a FB that an FD trans can be made ti fit?

Thanks for all the feed back my fellow rotorheads, but now I have purchased the entire 93 engine, ecu and tranny for my 85 gsl and hopefully that will put a little more pep in my step. thanks again

Doesn't the FD tranny has problem with their 5th gear synchro?
