15x8 + 20 up front w/ 225/45R15 Anyone ran this?
Does it fit
How tight Did it rub? What camber and what springs How far does it poke past the fender. And lastly post pics if you got em. Thanks |
need a spacer to clear springs... my 15x7 +27? nearly rub and i have 205 50 15. you'll need flares or have to run it higher
|
but you have 12a brakes? different offset?
i wanna do this too, in the rear, no problem, in the front? |
15x7 +15 with 225/50 required monstrous fender rolling, the front edges of the fender lips had to be pushed out so much that the bottom of the fender was about a 45 degree angle to the car.
http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...0b4ce7d19d.jpg Tires baaaaaarely rubbed the springs sometimes. You'd definitely have to roll as much - the problem isn't the diameter so much as it is the width. Fortunately, the fenders are so thin that they are one-handable and probably weigh less than street-grade carbon fiber, which means you can roll the lips and then move the fender to where it needs to be just by pulling on it. |

ive got 225/45/15's on 15x7 offset 7 wheels. my problem is actually the rear fender lips, its TIGHT. the front with some camber tucks, and has 1" or so to the strut....
|
sry forgot se is different from 12a
|
im looking to run this same setup.. i was gonna do 205s in the front and 225s in the back. 15x7 and 15x8 +20 offset... ill roll the fenders if i have to. and im gonna try to run respeed coilovers so i can adjust them
|
it'll be close but it will rub the springs... you'll have to use a 5mm or bigger spacer, but then you're going to have to roll and full the front fenders. 15x7 +7 with 205's clear the springs by about 1/2"
|
Get RE-Speed coilovers in the front, they will give you more room than stock springs.
|
The spring seat is the main rub point, not necessarily the spring.

cuz most of the offsets i see with the 4x110 pattern are +20. if i change bolt patterns the adapter is 15 mm. so id need like a +35 offset or +30 to make it sit right in the fenderwell?
|
I want to run the 15X8 +20 all around, but with 195/50/15's. Shouldn't have a problem.

but yeah, if the offset is 20, the 15mm spacer makes it 5, which in a 15x7 will fit, but 15x8 will stick out the 13x8's are cool looking too, but i'd have to buy tires cause the race car is 225/45/15 |

I really wish the aftermarket would use backspacing instead of offset. Stock 12A is 5.5" wheels with 25mm offset. This is almost the same backspacing as 7" wheels with zero offset. (Technically it'd be +6) Offset tells you the hub face in relation to the centerline of the wheel, which is great if you're concerned with theory. Backspacing tells you how much room you have on the backside of the wheel, which is great if you're concerned with what will actually fit on the car... |
I have an -SE and want to run 16 x 8 +15 offset w/ 185/50/R16 tires on all for corners.
Would I have any big fitment issues? |

Would I have any big fitment issues? The clearance from strut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 7mm LESS The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 57mm |
You forgot:
You will look like a DOUCHE with 185-width tires on an 8" rim |

Hi guys, I'm mulling over fitments at the moment too so if anyone here could throw me a bone and give me an idea what this would fit/look like that'd be great.
So i"m looking at.... 15x8 superlites -4 ET 110mm backspace I've got a 1983 series 2 I want to use 240z style arches so am trying to achieve wheels that stick out that far just to give you an idea. Cheers fellas Tim |
I've got 15x6.5 w/ 205/50's. I can't remember the offset, but they didn't rub.

Oh right yeah sorry about that I'm running 4x110 completely standard setup.
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 8mm LESS The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 56mm http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html should be just about right? |

Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:
