13B Color Coded vacuum hose diagram (maybe 12A?)

Hello all.

As the factory vacuum line diagram is so hard to follow, I thought colors would help. "Color coded" is a little misleading, as there is no code as such. But "colored diagram" sounded so...juvenile. (Look Mommy!)

But it's a hell of a lot easier to follow than the factory diagram. And even better if you do not have the factory manual.

The original is 700K, but I had to reduce it to 100K to be able to attach it. At 700K, it's very easy to follow.

I've also labeled the lines from the throttle body as vacuum or air and where they go within the throttle body, for those interested.

Thought someone else might find it useful.

-John.

(P.S. : For the '84/'85 12A people (at least, those that have not removed the "rats nest" ):
I've looked at the factory vacuum line diagram, and as you are no doubt aware if you have it, it's nearly impossible to read. It needs color more than the 13B diagram. But I don't have a 12A to refer to as I do it. I should be able to color code the diagram looking at the systems diagrams, but it would depend upon interest. If you think it would be useful, send a PM.
I'll be gone for 10 days, but if there's interest I'll do it when I get back. )

I did, didn't I? I'm good with Crayons.

Sorry to bump an old post, but this diagram is superb! A must save for anyone tinkering in the 13B engine!

Thanks FJ! I don't know how I missed this the first time.

Right on!

I guess I missed it the first time, but I wanted to know of there was ever one color coded for the 12A?

Thanks,
Chris

I suspect a few others who might be interested may have missed it as well.

Yes, but not yet posted. It took a while as I didn't have a 12A to refer to as I tried to decipher the factory diagram, among other reasons. But it won't be too long: another forum member is double-checking it now.
(Don't want to name names, but he likes dancing bananas. )

Then I'll clean it up a bit and post it in this thread.

Might be a week or two, but it's coming.

Sorry I havent gotten to it yet, been really busy. From the 1/2 I looked at so far it looks accurate, just gotta check a few more lines. BTW, you gonna do the other view too?

Hey, there's no rush. I certainly didn't mean to imply that you were the cause of the delay; you've only had it for a few days. I'm the one who has been slow. My post was only intended as a progress report.

I will do the second view; I think it will be useful for the 12A.
It's just a question of free time.

Thanks for verifying it, Carl!

Good job guys, I had a hard time reading that "copied" FSM I manufactured when I borrowed a fellow FB'ers manual. If you removed that rats nest enough, putting all those vaccum lines is second nature. =).. anywhos.. I saved a copy and a great job to you FJ!

Any progress Carl?

I know it's a pain in the butt.
Do you have a stock 12A to look at or are you checking according to the book?. If you are checking it using the manual: I would have done that. It's near impossible given the quality of the diagrams but I thought you had a stock 12A to look at, or I wouldn't have asked.

Either way, Thanks!

I love how simple this idea is, yet it's so useful and it took so long for someone to do it. Thanks.
