12a rotary housing question
 
hey guys

I just tore apart the 12a out of a parts car that i got. My question is. how apparent will it be if a rotor housing is bad? i cant see or feel and grooves or nicks in the crome. can they warp??

Yes, they can warp. The FSM shows where to take the measurement.

You have to measure the width of the rotor housing. When it gets hot, it'll warp and compress. Which makes it narrower. You compare the width of the top of the housing where it's coolest, to the spark plug area where it's hottest. It can't differ too much. And there's a minimum width spec too.

Plus the usual corrosion and spark plug hole check.
