Found this on Ebay, $50 for Remanufactured 105 amp alternator + $8 for pulley + $8 for pigtail + $20 Shipping. $86 Is alot better than 200 for a rebuilt one form NAPA.

Going to bring this thread back from the dead because I finally got around to installing my high output CS-130 alternator. Wired it as listed here S to the B+ post and the L wire to the L wire in the factory harness. Weird thing is that at idle the voltage is about 12V. When i increase the engine speed to 1500rpm the voltage bumps up to 14V but then drops again to 12V or so when allowed to idle again. From what I have read the once the alternator cut-in speed is reached (in my case 1500 rpm) then the alternator should remain excited until you shut off the car. Anyone have any ideas?

Faulty alternator or maybe bad belt or incorrect sized pulley.

The cs130 does not need to be rev'd up to turn it 'on' like a simple 1 wire alternator does

Going to take it in to have the alt checked, was new when I bought it though so would suck if the alt was bad. As for the pulley it is the same size as the factory at 2.5 inches, I had thought about changing the pulley but the prob is I would need a smaller pulley to spin the alternator faster...and I don't think there is a smaller V belt pulley than 2.5 inches (54mm)

By bad belt I meant maybe its old and slipping. Or not enough tension on it. Try a new belt if yours is getting old.
I used the pully off my old stock alternator I believe.
Get the alt checked. Good luck! and post up what the problem was when you get it fixed

And thanks comrealpeace Hope it helps some fellow rotorheads

This was my first mod on my FB. I had to use new wiring though(mine was having issues to begin with). New wire from alt to batt. Fuse tapped an ignition sorce and solders a resister to it for the "on" signal. Then added a bunch of 4 gauge grounds and replace the fusable links with the FC fuse box. Every thing works soo much better!
This picture was the test fit to make sure the belt lined up.
