The White One turns 150
That's impressive Ray! Zoom-Zoom-Zoom to 200K...
That's a 12A for ya.
Ah, it's still a youngster, I see. :D
Wow! Thats make you both about the same age right :)
Next year we want to see you hit 200. |
still looks alomst new at 150K! you've got a real gem there Ray!!!
Yep, definitely a youngster, just like me. We are shooting for 200 together, at 25-30K a year, that should happen sometime in 2010.
And thanks Dave, the White One really has been a gem, it just keeps getting better and better. The only problem with the White One is that it keeps on running so I'm not getting a chance to put my back up car (the Silver One) on the road. The Silver One only has 102k and it's a real garage queen ('till I got it, now it lives out under the plum trees). http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...7_119_full.jpg |
congrats!!! i should join you in about 20k, knock on wood. :D
Holy hell Ray, what size sidewalls are on the silver one? Geeze they look like matchbox tires! LOL
Yeah I know they came with the car, go cart tires (Sumitomo HTR 200's 175/50/R13's). Practically new but I hated them, they looked goofy and put the car too low to the ground, scraping and getting in an out were a pain.
They are gone, to be replaced by stock Yokohama Avid Tourings - it will look like the White One, only silver. |
A 50 series sidewall looks seriously thin on 13" wheels LOL. I'm glad I ordered 205/60-13's instead of the 215/50-13's

$231.68 shipped for mine from tire rack. I have a place a block up the street from my house that should be able to mount and balance them for me. I just need to see how much they'll charge me. Shouldn't be more than $50
when i first started searching for tires, they had them for $47 a piece. then when i order them 3 days later, they went up $2 ea. even the coopers that local wanted $83 each, tire rack had them for $50. this is how i'll buy tires from now on.
Yeah I could have sworn I saw $47 a tire too a couple weeks ago LOL. Oh well no biggie. Now I just have to finish polishing and painting my wheels!

Sorry Michael that '50s skinny look is just too skinny for my taste:
http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...7_115_full.jpg Not to mention the backache from climbing in and out of the "lowered" car, the damage to the undercarriage (front valence and muffler all scraped up) and the speedometer error. I much prefer the looks and performance of the meatier stock tires (the Yoko Avids come with an 80,000 mile warranty and are very reasonably priced): http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...rgreen/c-2.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...n/may24010.jpg |
the car are still looking marvelous! Ray, do you by chance have any of the original window stickers from any of your 7's?
yes ray i agree. the 50 series is just to short. there's a site i ran across the other day that has size compairison on tire dia of the different sizes. which is good for other than stock tire size without putting ur speedo too far out.
couldn't find the site i was talking about but did find a pdf of how to calculate it. http://www.mirafiori.com/faq/content/Tire_Diameters.pdf |
I ran 205/60-R13s on the stock waffle wheels on my old GLC. They looked decent.
