SA & FB Owners Registry
i know this has been talked about and a few threads have encouraged me to start this. i know i dont have the oldest SA but i'll start. we can have some fun with this!

SA22C504534 - 1979 (leather seats, Silver) both cars have had somehting done to them, the 2nd one (currently own) has rebuilt motor, and reupholstered seats in black leather. the first car was a bondojob, and was told it had the front clip off a 81 on it |

at some point we should put the VINs in numerical order.

We really SHOULD have a formal registry. The MGB club I belong to has one...it's a database maintained by a member and contains all sorts of information about members' cars. I'd like to do it myself, but I'm not sure I'll want to maintain it forever...my interests tend to wander lol.

check the tag on the inner door frame to be sure on the build date.

sa22c-506291 built 5/78
its a GS with a 5 speed, the alloy wheels, no a/c, and a sunroof. in RH sunrise red, with solid black vinyl. since its pretty early its got the hood prop on the right, and no right mirror right now, its got 91,xxx miles on it, 100% stock (except the stereo) and in excellent shape. engine paint and interior are original, and in excellent shape... |
sa22c-566369 is in my driveway... in California.
Not much stock left on it... RB header & strut tower brace, TMC suspension (AFAIK), 4-point rollbar, CSA 15" wheels, race seats with 5-point harnesses, and a cut up (but nicely done) center console with a Clarion head unit. |

well i just looked at mine its a 79 SA and the original color is the dark blue, just not sure the paint code, most the door sticker is faded out and its VIN is SA22C-554765 and inner door says 4/79. it most have been one of the last 79's

robs seven, the paint code will be on the VIN plate on the firewall, not on the door frame. that shouyld help you out in determining the color. the color may be A7, Marine Blue Metallic.

there is nothing but the vin# and the displacment on the tin plate that is mounted beside the hood latch, then the vin is also stamped on the firewall. ????????????

I dunno, but that plate on the door looks like a replacement. Pretty sure it should be riveted in place, not screwed...

its an original plate for sure. i would guess you have an "early" 79, built early in 78. perhaps there is a seperate sticker or plate for the color code. i've owned 15 RX-7's and i've never had a 79. 80 is the earliest i've personally had.

as a note, the VIN plates on the firewall are screwed in, NOT riveted. the only riveted plate is the VIN plate on the dash.

paint code is a sticker on the back side of the hood.

Thanks! It going to be interesting to see all the SA owners, maybe there should hyperlink on the vins that go to a picture of the car (Just a thought). If you need any help let me know.
