Stu- whats all this NOS stuff? And can I has it?

hanman 03-12-08 02:37 PM

I dont' think I still have the dealer invoice, although I may. I do remember I had to pay $9700 for it. Which was a premium at the time. And I got every option available at the time, except for the leather package. I got the sunroof, AC, the five speed, and the waffle wheels. You had to get the wheels if you bought the sunroof. It was sold as a package only.

I still remember the smell of the undercoating burning off after I took it for a test drive. And the drive home from Sioux City, back to Okoboji. You could take your hands off the steering wheel and it would run straight as an arrow forever.

Ummm... I have a dealer installed 3 piece spoiler on my 85 GS... not sure if that's rare or not though..

mazdaverx713b 12-30-08 09:49 AM

they are getting more and more rare. the three piece spoiler is part of the IMSA appearance package which consisted of the front air dam, targa band, and the three piece rear spoiler. the parts could be bought together or seperatly.

chris_g 12-30-08 09:54 AM

Rare, what do I have that is "rare".

Almost had my hands on a Xenon front lip.
Maybe the 3 piece spoiler that needs work.
A rear seat?

mazdaverx713b 12-30-08 04:46 PM

rear seats are pretty rare...

WANT.:drool1:

Landon303 01-06-09 06:41 AM

that targa is home made though. thats not rare at all unless you count the fact no one does it

Rotary Powah 01-06-09 03:15 PM

yeah, looks pretty good though, no?

Landon303 01-06-09 07:49 PM

it looks sharp ya i'll definitly admit that- there was a company (i think pacific avatar) doing professional conversions in the 80s- theres a thread on here about it

They did a soft top conversion, as a convertable. Used a Mercedes top, I believe SL500 or something? All mercedes look the same to me.

Black rear seats reporting in :D

Buckles and belts included. I buckled in a gallon of milk once.

t_g_farrell 01-07-09 07:15 AM

Black88inmd I had the second tonneau cover pictured but tossed it :wallbash: I kept the bar across tho because its handy to keeps things from sliding forward and to strap stuff to. I took out all of the snaps as well. Didn't realize it was a dealer item until much later. Oh well.
