I took a peek at my car, and I will try to explain how we installed the seats years ago. By they way, I didn't do it - it was the metal fab guy who built the roll cage.
I had Recaro Seats, and bought Recaro Seat Rails for the seats. I know didn't use the stock seat rails, because I gave them away with the original seats. I remember I was able to pretty much mount "Seat Rail 2" with no problems. it was "Seat Rail 1" that was an issue. (Which is why "Metal Fab Guy" ended up doing it.) All he did was notch (cut the raised bracket) so the seat rail would rest through the notch. Then "Seat Rail 1" fit like butter. Depending on your seat rails, the location of the notch will be different, but it pretty much will be on raised floor bracket. My car is notched like the top one "Seat Rail 1" of this picture. https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1286130547 |
Interesting idea DF. Who wooda thunk it. That might solve the problem I'm having with mine being too tall and leaning outboard.

I felt kinda dumb for not thinking about it first. But this guy has done hundreds of races cars, cages, chassis, etc - so I got over it, lol! |
Thanks for the input. Surely there are others with "racing seats" in there FB. I looked at Recaro...Insanely priced!!!! Seats costs more than most cars. Most reclining seats aren't FIA certified. I think the FC head rests with the speakers look like the robot from "lost in space". I mean damn... they are "Fugly". On top of that you can only get red, blue or black in sparco or corbeau. Any thoughts on tenzo?
