Kenichi Yamamoto has died at age 95.

He passed away yesterday, very little news available thus far. Here's an excellent article from 1995 that hints at some details of his life.

That was a good article - lots of info I hadn't seen before. He'll be missed for sure - quite a legacy!

Hope he is driving up to the Pearly Gates in an angel-white Cosmo L10, with maybe a little back-fire salute as he rolls thru. Thanks for the gift of your engineering genius Mr Yamamoto....

I read that this morning and was saddened to hear about his passing. He left quite a legacy behind and did so many amazing things for the automotive world. I believe he is a huge reason that I'm able to love and enjoy my RX-7's as much as I do. Without him and his engineering abilities the 7 may not have been produced.
