Found wheels...need help
This probably sounds like an extreme stretch-
but recently I found someone who is selling some brand new, in the box 14x6 riken mesh wheels in Oregon. He refuses to ship them, and so i'm asking if anyone in the Oregon or Washington area would be willing to pick up these wheels for me and ship them to me in Tennessee. I understand this is kind of a big risk in trusting someone on the boards here, but generally speaking time and time again I've seen brotherhood and loyalty on these boards, and am willing to put that rotary loyalty up to the test. haha I am posting here without information on the wheels first to see if anyone is able to help first. If so, I will PM them and try to make the necessary arrangements. Thanks, Ian |
where in oregon?

Milwuakie Oregon
So just outside Portland |
Why is he refusing to ship them?
Afraid of getting rain poisoning if he goes outdoors, probably.

ROFL:lol:

Update: A friend of mine recently moved to Portland and as far as I can tell it will work out that he can help me ship them. https://i178.photobucket.com/albums/...urb/004-15.jpg https://i178.photobucket.com/albums/...burb/005-6.jpg |
Does sound sketchy but if those pics are accurate, at least that one wheel looks amazing! Would really look good on your car with that T2 powering it along lol
haha that's the plan. My buddy should hopefully be checking out the wheels this week, to see if the other three are in the same condition.
M R beutiful!!!!!!!!
Very nice. Good on your bud for helping out. I don't like shipping things, I find it a bit of a pain, but he has the boxes and would only have to take them to the shipping office and they'll put a label on them and off they go. The hardest part is finding a box the right size for what your shipping.
Appreciate it. $250 seems like an insane deal for these wheels. Like you said, they're already in the box so hopefully they'll be good to go.
Dude obviously doesn't know what he has. A guy on this board was selling his for $600! Was looking at them really hard but decided for that price I could get adapters, just about any 4X100 wheels and tires for that. $250 is a great price.:icon_tup:

Good find and good friend. :icon_tup:
Thanks.
That, or he knows what he has and didn't pay for them.... I searched around to see if anyone posted threads or CL ads for stolen wheels in that area..Nothing's come up so far. |
Buddy picked them up today! The seller was a police officer, so I doubt they were stolen, but I was told he wasn't a very pleasant man.
Anyways: (all four are in the exact same shape) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_0977.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_0976.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_0978.jpg They'll be here next week. :icon_tup: |
i heght you.......:icon_no2:
Ha-ha...He was a police officer so I doubt they're stolen....
Got like 4 friends who are cops (all real good guys)...but they always have the best hook-ups! |
Make sure they get package good. I had a set of four wheels shipped but I only needed one wheel (wife hit a curb). I didn't look at all the wheels when I received them. A few months after I got them I looked at the other wheels. One had a dent that looked like it was drooped. By then it was to late to make a claim.
Those look like nice wheels and hard to replace if one got hurt. |
Out of curiosity, are there stud conversions for 4x110? So that way I could get locking lug nuts.. Or would I have to get adapters or something.
yes
Just add studs? Or is there a certain way to accomplish this. haha
Nevermind. I found some old threads that detail this. http://www.bildon.com/catalog/Detail...10&SubNav=none Yay search button! |
sorry i was gonna post more info then i fell asleep
Show pics of those awesome wheels when you get them on the car!
Long overdue, but they just arrived at my door!
No dings or dents on any of the wheels, came with the original paper work, and the original bolt on valve-stems! http://l5.sphotos.l3.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2079807_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7620572_n.jpg The markings on the back indicate they were made in August '84, a little under a year before my car was made. Match made in heaven, if you ask me. |
Excellent find! I wouldnt use the original valve stems. Just get new ones. But keep the original ones!
stems are fine! Just get new rubbers for them.
You install them yet?
Test fitted, getting rubber in the near future.

Going bareback huh? You need to wear your rubbers!
Or ride that baby down the train tracks
Yeah, it would be terrible if I had any riken offspring running around in my garage!
Pics of them on the car please, they must look sexy on it.
I'll be sure to post more pictures when I get some tires for them in the near future.
I'll give you $350 for them :)
I'm good thanks. haha. :)
Finally got some tires. Falken 512's 205/60/14

Just thought I'd post an update. |
Looking Good!! :icon_tup:
Those wheels fill up the wells nicely, why would you want to put flares on? |
I have spacers for them, so they'll technically have a lower offset, and I'll be able to lower the car a little more.
Thank you, by the way. |
Those look excellent! How is that T2 swap holding up?
The engine is running really well., since it's warmed up a lot of the boost creep has stopped. Holds steady at around 11-12lbs. Feels and runs great.
Looks great!!!
