Anybody running this wheel/tire size combo with flares?

I have ZG flares ordered for my SE. I'm also picking up some 15x8 0 offset Gun Metal XXR 002's from a buddy, and ordering some 225/45/15's from my Tire Rack wholesale account.
The car is lowered with coilovers on the front.

Should I expect any fitment issues other than cutting my fenders for the flares? Also I shouldn't need the extra wide flares right?
Which of these 3 street tires would you run? I have always liked BFG tires but may go with the Hankooks.

I have always liked BFG.

I am very interested in seeing pics of this. What size flares did you get?

that should be an easy fit with flares. i have a set of the wide zg flares and im planning on going much bigger with tire size.

Here is my GSL with 15x8 0 offset, I believe the tires were 225/45/15 but i cant remember for sure. I think you will be fine with regular ZG flares.

Alex,

Your GSL has SE suspension on it. IIRC, that moves everything outward approximately 5mm. So it's exactly what XXXJ needs, but something to note for future readers.

I thought gslse parts are 19mm further outward than any other model. I used to have 15x7 wheels with 20mm offset on my stock gs suspension, and since swapping to gslse suspension I have 17x7 with 42mm wheels without spacers.

Yeah, 5mm is way too small. I was thinking of something else. Around 20mm sounds about right. I know stock SE wheels are 14x5.5 at 45mm, but not sure about nonSE.

I dont have the time right now, busy at work, and too many projects lol.

Im a bodyman by trade so its no biggie to me to cut up a car. You should see my Jeep XJ rock crawler, not much sheet metal left on it.

I would in fact quite like to see that. Pics?

On a GSL, 15x7 on 15mm offset wheels with 225/50 tires needed a tiny bit of clearancing for me.

You have GSL-SE axles, which are 15mm further outboard, with 15mm less offset (+30mm), with one inch wider wheels (+42.5mm - fudge factor).

You is gonna need some flares on that thing.

Still interested to see these mounted on the car, with or without flares. Trying to get an idea for some potential personal fitment ideas.

It took me a while to finally even get the tires mounted on the car. For 3 weekends in a row it rained and I didnt wanna drive the car to my shop in the rain. Then I was out of town all last weekend, but I caught a break and go some stuff done.

This is fitment with just the wheels

I ended up having to cut off about 6" of the front flares and 8" of the rears and reshape the ends to make them fit right and look the way I wanted. I also had to heat them up with my heat gun and do some tweaking. I still need to finish them out and put on my fender flare welting to seal up any gaps between the body and the flares. The side moldings had to be removed and the ends cut to allow clearance for the flares too.

Are you doing flares just for the look? I have the almost the same set up and have been running them for about a month now and even did an autocross with them and no rubbing or anything!

I did it for both looks and clearance. SE's do sit out a lil wider than regular models.

My car is lowered quite a bit and I had rolled fenders already, and there was no way I could drive it like that on the street. It was hard enough just getting it in and out of the shop. I was somewhat tucking tires with setup I had on it before this.
