Haltech E6K question

I would like to find out how much it would cost to get one of these put in and tuned. Does it have to be dynotuned. I was quoted like 10-15 hours labor. That's like 2500-3000 dollars with the part.

I know it's the shit and I'm willing to do it, but I can't find anyone reasonably priced. Does that tuning est. sound right?

Live in Bay Area, CA. Installer reccomendations welcome. I'd even drive my car towards L.A. if I could save money.

thanks, Rishie

no, it doesn't have to be dyno tuned. if you can find someone with a wideband lamba set up maybe for the price of a couple of dozen cans you could borrow it for the afternoon.

Like Shane said, you can live without it tuned on a dyno and still have fun but you have to ask yoursefl if you are willing to take the time to tune it on the road a few days and are you willing to deal with being a tad slow in the process?

Matt's maps are excellent, www.hitman.hm , and with them you can drive your car around for fun and slowly tune it when you have time. It will still be fast and you will learn a lot in the process.

Now, the unit was ~$1400 for me so that means $1600 for tuning anf that sounds high personally but if they think it will take 15 hours then I guess so but that better be a PERFECT map for that money.

Thanks guys. I probably will get the haltech, but will be needing a cartidge for the turbo soon and figured I'd do an upgrade. That leads to my next post. Much appreciated.
