Already have an Fcon on the GTR, but now have a GTX and want to know the advantages, if any w/ the APEXi. Can't afford an E6K, and can't find anyone who will work with it.
Current mods, full c/o susp., full RB exhaust w/ FCD. Does the s-AFC have an FCD like the Fcon?
Future mods, larger primaries and secondaries, fuel pump, etc.. Rebuilt motor, balanced, clearanced, 3 mm. And reliability factors, i/c,want to keep a top mt but better. Probably modify the stock turbo.
Trying to retain a good $ to pwr. ratio.
Any suggestions would be apprectiated as this is the route my customers would likely take, and would be nice to provide some mapping for them immediately. As well as show them the results in my GTR and GTX.

Well, for mild mods the S-AFC will work for larger primaries but you will still need the FCD but as soon as you go larger primaries and bigger turbos the stand alone system is the way to go. The problem with the F-CON is that it is designed for stock injectors and stock motors. HKS made it so if you add a biggere turbo and do things that are within their mod list then it should work fine but if you throw in bigger injectors it will not work right because it was not programmed for them. If you can do the turbo at the same time then it may offset the injectors but a stand alone will work so much better.
They really aren't that tough once you get the hang of them because you can make them like a piggy back if you want, just let the Haltech control the motor and you can leave the harness in there so you have cruise, wipers, AC, etc..
I also love how reliable the HAltech is and how nice the car runs when you start it up. NEver mess with the idle or worry about what little valve will break next.
It mostly depends on what the future plans are because if the customer justs wants a few things that bolt-ons are better and easier, well maybe not better but whatever

By stand alone system, are you solely referring to the Haltech E6K. That's a lot of loot. Especially to Dynotune. Any suggestions. What would be the most inexpensive way to add power once the exhaust has been done completely. Should I get a custom turbo made and when that happens i'll need a i/c primaries, secondaries, fuel pump and rail. Where will I be heading.
I'd like to do high twelves to low thirteens, assumming a good driver. Does this sound reasonable. 250 - 300 RWHP would be nice, not sure if that will get me in those timeslips.
Yeah it is steep but it is so flexible and tuning it yourself isn't too bad but if you want to use the other methods they should work fine.
For 250-300 rwp I think a bigger pump and bigger secondaries should be fine and you can see about tuning it in with the S-AFC but I don't know how the F-Con will react.
Doesn't the F-Con have a little adjustment knob? I think I would just get the bigger turbo and then check it out with the stock injectors and a new pump and see where you are. If it seems like it cannot support it then try bigger secondaries with the F-Con and see what happens. This way you can do things one at a time and see how the results are.
