87 NA Long Island, New York
Hey everybody, I recently traded my 87 auto Trans Am for this 87 NA rx7,
with a 5 speed transmisson.
The car has 146,*** miles and is a blast to drive, being my first fast manual car, much faster than my 88 Pathfinder.
Things I've done to the car recently:
comprehensive inpsection done by some local shop, not a rotory specialist.
Shifter fixed, was loose when I got the car the shop just tightened some bolts and charged me 80 bucks, got to love it!
The car is a 2+2, so I remooved the back seats and rear seat belts to remove weight, will probably putting it on this site and craigslist.
I also cleaned the air filter, I opened up the air box and found acorns, Haha. I also put in new plugs, when I first flooded the car and went through the process of figuring out what the flooding problem was from this site. Now I always let the car warm up fully, even if it takes a while in this freezing New York, weather, its getting better finally.
Thing Im doing in near future:
Bought Idemitsu rotory oil, NGK leading & trailing plugs, NGK wires, and NPK oil filters.
Should be getting a package from rx7world.com soon with Pulsation Damper (to be safe), PD selas inner & outer, injector O-rings, uim to lim gasket and new vacum hoses.
Also just busted my rear heater hose to firewall, while having some fun launching from a stop sign, I had to have my pops push my car with his van, lol, it was close to my house. So tommorow morning I'm picking up a new one in town.
Im looking to do a full exhuast, custom CAI, open diff to lsd, and one day rebuild on my engine.
If theres any one on Long Island that live out east are there any rotory specialists on Long Island cause I can not find any thing online.
Thanks for taking the time to read, hope you enjoy the pics.
