Mazda RX-7 86 GL and 91 vert
Just want to get my post count to ten so I can see links and pics. The 1986 was bought new off the lot in 86 and has seen almost 150,000. It has been run almost continuously since the, but for the last ten years has been a second car used as needed (i.e., visiting family). After sitting for about a year and a half I'm getting the urge to start driving it again, but may finally get around to bringing it back to life, with a proper restoration of vital components. The engine and tranny are good, and have not been abused. The rotors have been changed once (now going to do a 5 lug swap as part of the restore), alternator once, clutch at 130,000 (friends driveway with a floorjack, eight hours
), several batteries, sets of tires and wheels, new springs and shocks about 10,000 miles ago. No major damage, just some dents while parked by inconsiderate drivers.
The vert is a project car I bought from someone who took it ninety percent, and I have yet to take it to the finish. When I get around to posting about it, some will recognize its history.
About ready to order $1500 in parts from Blackdragon
