Where are you buying your race tires?
Over the years, I have bought tires from Bob Woodman, Appalachian Race Tire (Mike), and a couple others out there. Been poking around looking at pricing lately and got sort of curious who everyone else uses, why they use them, and what sort of service you get.
What kind of tires are you looking at buying? Are you doing track days or some type of TT/W2W racing?
I run with NASA in TT. NASA has a tire contingency with Hoosier(so does SCCA). In order to be eligible for the contingency, you have to buy your tires from the track side vendor in your region. I've purchased tires from Sasco(for southeast region) and Phil's tire service(for mid atlantic region). Both have been great. Pick my tires up at the track most of the time and have them mount them. Other than that, hoosier is awesome for supporting the grassroots racers like ourselves! Most of the time I submit my contingency forms on Monday, and I have new ho ho's sitting on my doorstep by Thursday

I had not thought of AIM in some time! Good times...
My customers actually go through a variety of race tires for autocross, track days, and race events. The contingency programs are pretty good, maybe better than they have ever been, but I was thinking more about where to send guys these days for tires or buy them for the rental cars etc. as tires are needed for everything from autocross, NASA/SCCA/PCA/ Various Vintage clubs, track days, Pikes Peak, etc.
Never have bought tires from tire rack personally, although have had many customers and freinds do so and seemed happy about it. Its just hard forme to get past the lack of trackside service. Have dealt with Sasco (Vintage racing) and they are very helpful people! Love Bob Woodman, super easy guy to do business with. Mike at Appalachian Race tire once met me at a Cracker Barrel outside of Nashville to drop off a set of USED Spec Wrecker Yoko's we were using to check fit on an MG. Super cool of him to go out of his way for less than a $100 sale.
AIM was very cool too, they let us use a bit of thier workspace when we were there for the WCTC race years ago.

I'm going local on my race tires. Will likely use AIM. Roger Kraus is another option for me semi-locally.
The regional SCCA magazine in our region has advertisers of local shops that have tires. Maybe yours does too.
