GT Wings : FEED VS RE-A VS Others

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for one of those big *** spoiler and I'd like to have your opinions on the subject !Some of you might already know that my FD has a FEED body kit. However I also have many Re-Amemiya parts. What I'm wondering is if there's one of these wings that offers more.... talking about performance and look. Feel free to post best pics of any GT wing of your choice guys and don't forget to vote!

Help me decide
-Dee

Personally I'm a fan of the Afflux wing, but I'm a little partial seeing as how I have one.

The reason I like it is that A) It def works. B) Yeah, it's pretty big, but that's kinda the "look" you're going for with a GT wing. C) It's easily removable from it's base w/o leaving holes in your trunk (for when you just want to cruise around, w/o attracting too many looks), and D) It does not impede your rear view vision in the slightest.

The GTC wing is a nice and rare piece but it think it's only going half way if you know what i mean guys and I want to go all out !

That's exactly what i love about this wing. Like you said I don't wanna rock the spoiler 365 days a year! This is something that the RE-A GT II doesn't seem to allow.
According to the pics around I think the RE-A GT III does use similar brackets to the FEED (correct me if wrong) So it could be possible to do it with this wing too.

There isn't that many good pics around of the FEED wing... but the shape looks weird on some pics. Re-A seems more elegant and curvy but pictures and real life are always 2 different things.

thx for your inputs guys, keep em coming!

Curious how this wing is removable without leaving holes in the trunk?

I voted FEED. It's the one I would do if I was going all out and getting a GT wing. Still don't see how you can remove it without leaving holes though.

I'm flying home from the middle east right now guys, I'll take some pics to better illustrate what I'm talking about when I get home.

Essentially the Afflux (FEED) wing has three sections: the wing itself, the wing mounts, and the bases which the mounts attach to.

The wing and mounts can be removed, leaving only the bases (which protrude maybe an inch) on the trunk. It's not 100% sleek, but it's smooth enough not to distract from the car's body lines, while still hinting that the car is something to contend with, and not to be taken lightly.

I see. Pretty much all GT wings do that though. At least every GT wing I've ever seen.

I was under the impression that the RE-A one mounted directly to the trunk, with no intermediary base. I'm not aware of whether the MS GT-C does or not.

Yup, that's the same as w/ the GTC... it has those tear drop shaped mounts that go on your trunk.

Some slick character should develop a companion "street" wing that looks like a stock wing or similar to bolt to the mounts and cover them for street use.

Does the FEED bolt to the standard outer four stock wing holes?

because my goal is to purchase one

I know a lot of ppl hate on these. When I see civics with fake ebay gt wings I think they should die !!! However, a genuine wing made for racing is totally different and it looks super nice when you have the rest to match it!

i thought about using one of these when and should i take my car to the track... But the only track il go to is a drag strip and wingless turns out to be the best option.

In reguards to the thread, i like my FEED wing for the looks on the street basically, and thats all. It looks hideous wingless, but i like the added few more MPH on the big end.

and that purple/plum FD is ****** SIIIIIIIK!

DO you have the rest to match it? Are you actually going to use it at the track?

If so, no worries. I just hate street cars with Giant *** wings for no reason.

Sorry to get off topic here, but might be somewhat relevant when talking about a small wing for street use and then swapping out for a big one for the track.

There's an S2000 around my town that looks amazing with this wing, haven't really seen one like it on an FD though.

The one in my town is lowered and looks much more aggressive, so the spoiler really looks at home on it. Any pics of an FD with a low profile wing on it similar to this, after some searching, it looks to be very common on the s2000's.

Does JKL still offer their GT wing. It looks to be a functional wing at a reasonable price. Just thought it would be an option for you.
