it depends on how you're going to use the car..daily, show, long-distance, drift, etc. "volks rays" has some gangster ones, especially the new te37 sl. also check out head turners "work" for some pimp status ones.

What are you trying to do with the wheels? What styles do you like? Is cost a major factor? Is rarity important to you? Is weight critical? What size wheel (how skinny of a tire) do you want? Are potholes nasty where you drive, and are you put off by the possibility of having to repair or replace a bent wheel?

Me personally, I'm a fan of exactly what you have already.

^Agreed. Not necessarily the particular style in that picture, but (IMHO) no bigger than 17" for a street car. Looks like that's what you have. That way you can keep some speedometer accuracy, keep enough side-wall cushion for a decent ride and the occasional pot-hole and stay relatively wide w/o rubbing issues, rolling fenders and mandating coil-overs.

Definitely talk to Rishie at Auto RND. He knows these cars and wheels.

to answer some questions i like a good wheel for the street, i have money to spend but by no means the type of cash for something like BBS LM's. i was looking into some 18's i do like the mesh look while im also a huge fan of wheels like misters. i also need a wheel that will hold 275's in the rear and 235's in the front. id really like gold or black wheels, i know this is putting a huge range of wheels on the table but as for now im open to anything that would really set my car off.

I don't have any personal experience with the ASA rims. However, there are a few members on here using them. IIRC, there is an FD owner with that specific ASA rim on his car. They probably aren't the lightest thing on the planet, but they will do just fine for driving around on public streets.

So you want a Mesh wheel with a lip huh?

What's your budget? It appears you have some notion of one so please spit it out. that makes a huge difference.

In regards to tire selection if you're gonna go with 275 rears you should definitely try to find a wheel that can accommodate a 255 up front to retain some of the FD's neutrality. Why 275's anyways, you got big power issues?

Thanks,
Rishie

275's because im making some decent power and for the stance a FD looks a lot better with big rubber under it. also i would like to stay sub 1K because these wheels will be for road use, i dont want to worry about rock chips and scratches like i would with an expensive set of wheels

Sub 1K is doo doooo territory. You're stuck with the likes of Rota, XXR, etc..... sounds like you need to go with whatever options you can find on the net at that price.

In regards to offsets and fitments:

18x9 +45 Front is ideal for front with 255/35

If not then 18x8 +40 with 235/40

Rear

18x9.5 +40 with 275's should be fine
10" +45 should also be fine.

If you have trouble finding something and can go over $1000 let me know and we'll get you into some good quality wheels that are lightweight.

you could try this place called vrwheels.com. i bought a set of forged bbs wheels for about 600 in decent condition from this place. got them refinished and powdercoated locally and they look like new rims again. I remember a while back this place used to always get the old school rg's but they'd be gone quick.

You want to do something different but you want to end up in a worse boat with those boat anchor ASA wheels than all "the other guys"?

Save some money and get what you really want unless you really want junk wheels.
