Car, road, or driver paranoia?

Today I drove 30mi to Kalamazoo. On the way back, about 10 miles from home, the car started getting 'wavy' on the highway so I pulled off at the next exit and looked under the car, everything looked normal. The front tires had the same pressure, so i ruled that out.

So my biggest fear is a front wheel bearing but it doesn't make any noise, so I don't think it's that. The tie rods and control arm seemed to still be attached properly. I don't know what to think, any ideas?

Jack the front of the car up and then try to rip each suspension part off by hand. If everything feels tight and there isn't any clunking then they are probably fine. Check the wheel bearings for slop by trying to tear off the wheel.

It could just be the road...Ruts from trucks which aren't even visible will cause this.

Was the pavement grooved? That will sometimes do it. To check the wheel bearings, just grab the wheel at the 10 & 2 positions and try to wiggle it back and forth.

Welcome to the board, you are fairly local to me. Any plans to race the car? I do a lot of autocross racing, so if you are interested I can help you get started.

I just drove 1200km in one day on the weekend. My car started doing this at certain points during the trip, especially when I went from 130km/h -> 100km/h (slowed down for traffic/slow drivers). I then sped up, and everything was normal. It maybe happened 2-3 times for me during the trip. I think it was either the wind or something with the road.

But, it doesn't hurt to check out everything else. I haven't had that problem since.

Well, I put the car up and mercifully everything checked out. I guess it's driver paranoia.
