I had a scrap motor that i took to scarp yard cause housings were toast but i didnt i didnt listen to my friend cause he said end and middle plates were worth money,long story short dude at junkyard has a 83 GS or GSL with disk brakes.Car has not ran in 5 years but he wants 100.00 for it.Im going to go look it Sat.I will post pics.Wow LSD and maybe some parts to sell!

my car is an 81 so my speedo only goes to 85. and anyway it just spins around in circles. its quite entertaining. but the 83s got the 120mph speedo. since i have to replace it anyway, i thought i'd upgrade.

upgrade to the 84-85. speedo goes to 140.

vj226966: nice find. u'll need the master cyl and proportioning valve off of it too. those r different between disc and drum brakes.

no not realy,had one whole motor ,4 rotars and 3 more plates 20.00 and change

 

my 79 has 120 speedo and i have extra one.

 

i love the 79 dashs, they have the nice voltmeter in the tachometer

 

The '84/'85 cluster will not fit in the '79 through '83 dash. The '79 and '83 were the only two first gens that came out with the 130mph speedo. As far as the car your going to look at, if it's a disk brake rear end car factory, then it's a GSL.

Well that car is ruined.I will let pic talk for it self.The lsd rear and drive train im keeping.It has all the glass,power windows motor that had no hood on it or air breather so water down the carb.Good 5 speed ect.

 

When converting, you will need the Ebrake cables also, they are differnt on the disk brakes.
