its cranking... but its reallllyyy flooded gas in the oil... and was leaking onto the floor...so i pulled the plugs and am letting it dry out i gues...
mazda said crank it with foot to the floor.. and itll start but ill **** up the oil and plugs... so i tried till the barrety died bassicly ahah so its fucked now.. but how can i test the starter? ...i had a dead spot in it once and it made a different noise.. but i guess ill check it.. do i use a volt meter and see if its getting power? or just replace it ..

if its really flooded your best bet is to push start it or to pull start it by taking a tow rope from the tow hook under the front of your car to the back of a truck and put the key to on and have the truck drive while you have the car in 1st or 2nd gear with the clutch out so its turning the engine. also have the pedal to the floor and your foot on the clutch so when it dose start you dont go flying in to the back of the truck. this is how i got my 86 gxl started

if you think it might be the fuel pump bang the hell out of the tank and then try to start it if it starts you know the fuel pump is going bad and it should be replaced

i kno you dont think its fuel pump but i would really give hitting the tank a shot and see what happens.... because of your car starting and working fine one day and not the next day is a pretty typical scenario for a fuel pump going out.. usually a spark related issue will slowly start to go bad and youll notice it running like ****.

I remember back in my FC days that sometime there would be some kind of fuel start up problem where too much fuel would be injected. The trick back in those days was to disconnect the plug behind the crotch vent under the steering column and crank for a few seconds then reconnect it while continuing to crank.

Obviously, this is a work around.

Try reading the FAQ for the 2nd gen. I'm sure you'll find info on a solution there.

yea that im assuming is a fuel cutt off basicly.. just delay when fuel pumps when u crank it to get rid of extra.. i have one as a switch but it seems to be fine .. i guess ill finish up trying the oil in the spark plug holes tommrow then ill smash the gas tank and hope its that...

thanks .. ill keep posted..

i know this might sound a little crazy but on rx8s the actually procedure for a flooded engine is to put a little bit of windshield washer fluid in the spark plug hole... it helps clear out the gas out of the rotor housing when flooded and the alcohol in it will help start it

lol well its not that crazy i guess when i look at other ideas...but i did it with oil...and i just tryed starting it a few times..and i think my fuel pump is gone.. i asked a friend to listen to the pump with carpet pulled up and if they hear a noise let me no and if not bang that ******... and it still didint work.. and no noise.. so i guess fuel pump... i have a kill switch and i was flickin it a few times while trying .. and it almost caught but then didnt..so i guess ill buy fuel pump...

well since the fuel pump on the sec gen does not come on until you start cranking, you won't be able to hear it so since it's flooding i'm saying no to fuel pump being bad. but when you tryed to de flood it did you pull the egi fuse with the plugs out because cranking it at Wide Open Throttle will only work if its a little flooded so try pulling the egi fuse take plugs out and crank it over for a few then put it back together and start it like normal

... haven't heard that one about cranking it until its warm, but you can clean your plugs with starting fluid and a wire wheel to get the carbon off, works for me. just make sure you de flood it before you put your new plugs in. something else you can try would be to let the car sit for a day or two. just out of curiosity what kind of exhaust do you have? jw cuz if its got a cat or chambered muffler and has gas in it once your car starts it could ignite... just so you know

good luck

ok you have a fuel cut off switch correct? pull out the plugs dry them off put them back in make sure you got the right wires goin to the plugs. Then turn the fuel cut of switch of so the fuel pump is off. crank it. if it is flooded then it will start with the fuel pump off once it starts turn the pump back on or you'll run out of fuel and stall.
