Hey everyone im Nathan

Now i first wanted to start with my history of cars, im only 18 and i have had far too many

My first car Was a 92 Saab 900 awesomely clean car that only had 90k on it was given to me by my grand pa at 16 Unfortunately... all of my friends were into honda's... :/.. So i sold it and bought 2 honda civics, Ef hatch backs (88-91) both were Si's.

I dont plan on going through the entire honda part of my life lol (short lived but extensive) i learned most of my mechanic skills from honda's and i owned about 28 of them.... within about a year.. too many projects nothing reliable

Last honda i owned was a bepto bismol pink civic, This is where my RWD Obsessions started.. i Traded that civic for a 240sx Coupe (s13) and oh man.. i was done with FWD for good, i have never driven anything that handled so well before, i started drifting and i loved it, unfortunately a month later the car was stolen and plowed into a guard rail..

After that i bad a 96 honda CBR 600 loved the bike but it wasnt for me so i sold it a month later.

Now to present times, i have an 86 MR2 and i love it, i originally wanted it to be my drift car but i realized more and more that it just handles amazingly and i decided its going to be my Grip car And Thats when i decided... i wanted some thing really different. and a Rotary came to mind... And i decided i really, REALLY love S4/5 Body styles... like REALLY like them.

So we come to now Im currently Looking at SERVERAL Rx7's to get...choiced from turbo 2's to GXL's to Vert's

Verts are more common here in Tucson, AZ (my location..obviously)

So questions come up like.. how bad are Verts for drifting, is a cage a huge necesity or can i get away just fine with a typical setup consisting of sway bars coil overs strut bars etc etc..

Also, How much wiring work is necesary to convert Non Turbo cars to turbo?
Im sure there is a thread somewhere but i figure since im posting i might as well ask.

i've already pretty much figured everything out.

this is my 34th car and i'm 21.

i've owned a couple bikes too. i traded my xbox 360 for an '87 GXL and i love it.

it needs suspension work BADLY though

feels like a boat. lol

I know a few guys who have you both beat in number of cars.

anyways, the verts aren't gonna be as stiff for drifting, but you can do it, I love s5 verts and I want to get one as a later project once I'm temporarily satisfied with my FD. If you're drifting a vert a cage is highly recommended and I'm pretty sure any professional events will require you to have a cage in a vert anyways.

as far as the swap, you're gonna get the same answer from me as from everyone else, search, the answers are out there.

With the verts all you need to drift at events is a roll bar and some places dont even ask for that. There's some cool cats out in Tucson Jose and Anthony (Flooder) are the 2 dudes i meet up there and they know theyre ****. If you havent already get up on AzRx7 its not popping like here but its a bunch of local guys who are cool as fck and would help you out! Just stick with it

my 7 does donuts champion status.

it breaks them loose easy and drifts no problem but the stock suspension with blown struts make it unpleasing haha
