Potential RX-7 Owner

Greetings all,

So I've been a die hard Supra guy for most of my life, am a previous owner, and plan to own another one in the near future...But recently I developed a little "crush" on the RX-7. I always knew of the RX-7 and had seen what the car can do, but as with any non-rotary engine owner, I had been spooked by rumors of rotaries spontaneously combusting with little or no provocation, no doubt spread by the ill-informed and/or reckless owners. So I decided to find out for myself.
I stumbled across this site and have been reading endlessly, and I've found that the little "crush" has flourished into a burning love for the RX7 and the rotary!

Needless to say, I'm a fan for life and may even hold off on that Supra for now, in favor of the 7!

I am a fan of the supra as well, the only problem is..........when i go to buy one I can't justify spending the money on something that would allow me to buy a 7!! lol, good luck getting away from the rx7s especially if you do buy one, they are addicting and fun. GL

supras are nice great engine set ups and a pretty stable car. i dont know about spontaniousely cumbusting, but they do need a little more luvin than pistons do but it all ads up to an almost indestructible engine. my mechanic has 50 pounds on his over 500 bhp and torque and its his daily driver. trust me get the rx 7
its never bad to have veriety

!

That's exactly it... I can no longer justify the cost of entry for owning a 6 speed Supra Turbo in decent shape..I'm talking less than 100k miles, straight body, clean title..long gone are the days when you could find a nice one for mid to low $20k's, no thanks to a certain movie that must not be mentioned

For the price of a clean, straight bodied, decent mileage Supra, you can find a PRISTINE RX7 and still have thousands left over to fix things/modify/single turbo with AI. In the end you have a supercar that can out-handle, out-accelerate, and out-brake a BPU/mild APU MKIV on the road course, autocross, highway, etc, and still turn as many heads(if not more!). That to me, my friends, is the perfect car!
Don't get me wrong, the Supra is still one of my all-time favorite cars and it is still highly competitive, if not more so, than many cars in its class today. But the dynamics of supply and demand of one just aren't working in our favor!
It might be a little while before I find one that I like but once I buy the 7 I'll definitely post pics!

Drive it and make sure you like the driving experience before going further down that path. Great cars but not for everyone.
