Finally new to the rotary world
Finally new to the rotary world
I'm Mike, I'm 25, and i currently live in Tempe, AZ but it looks like im going to be moving to north carolina soon.
I just recovered from the classic VW scene when i traded my last VW (an all original 71 Super Beetle) for my '81 Rx-7 and i found this site in an attempt to figure out how to fix the car so i could drive it every day.
I was raised by automotive engineers and i've always been into cars but my true obsession didnt really become reality until i bought my first car... a 92 Mazda Miata. I fell in love with Japanese sports cars instantly and i was always interested in the "tuner" cars. By that i dont mean 89 berettas with baseboard trim nailed to the rockers and 90's maximas with fox body whale tails on them, but real combination of performance and style. I guess i only feel i had to clarify that because i live in AZ. My interest in cars is limited only to whatever i think is cool and i love anything from 20's custom hot rods to modern supercars. I really love out of the box style and engineering.
I'm an automotive technician with experience in general repair and at a hot rod shop so i do all my own repairs and modifications. I'm not afraid to cut up factory sheet metal on anything, straight or not, and i dont tend to think conventionally about modification and styling. I love learning new things and figuring out how everything works by taking it apart and putting it together.
Ive read through all the rules and announcements and i really like the forum layout so far, and im looking forward to being a part of the community
