HELP-i want feedback

OK -here's the deal. I've been given an '82 Rex 1-owner with all service records(112k) never been molested, adult owned, gold with only a few dings on one side from the car parked next to it. Now, I have to choose between leaving it bone stock and just fixing the few tiny things that need replaced or going toaally ballistic like I did with my Civic. I really would like to do autocross events and make trips down the 1/4 mile but I want to have the car for a long time. HELP!

They're called survivors...pick up a book on musclecar restoration and read the chapters dealing with "original" cars and go that route. EVENTUALLY, this car is going to be worth it if it stops racking up miles NOW. Since it was given to you, make it a weekend-only car and look for something else as a daily driver.

would it be a problem to put the LSD diff from another model in, or would that devalue the the car as far original condition is concerned?

Keep the diff you pull out, bag it, box it and label that box with a date. As long as you keep it, the value of the car won't suffer since it can be re-installed if bought by a hard core purist rotary nut.

I just came back from a local show where the awards for '80 & up was supposed to be ten and '79 & under was 10. but they gave out 8 for '80+ and two of those were B.S. one was 89 silverado bone stock other was fiero POS. What the hell! I guess ilve in a town of dunkels! I didn't get a trophy.
