Question Any way to check if car has had all recalls done?

Yeah well the previous owner claimed all the necessary recalls on his (now my) 93 R-1 had been taken care of, but didnt have the paperwork to back it up so I dont really believe him. Any websites etc. allow you to access this information? Thanks.

I've got a 94 and on my hood inside it shows 2 factory authorized modifications performed 5/29/96 and gives some campaign number. so I am geussing that was the 2. I was unaware a 3rd took place, maybe it was for 93s only?

i went on the nhtsa site and for 94 there was indeed 3 recalls, so i'm going to have to call mazda tomorrow to get the scope on why they said i'm 2 for 2.

I have a 93 R1, and when I called that Mazda number they told me the same thing, only 2 recalls were necessary?? Maybe only certain models required all 3.

The 3rd recall was for Mazdaspeed hoods (I believe, some type of replacement hood I know). If you didn't have the hood, the recall isn't necessary.

Ok cool thanks guys, I guess I will call mAzDuh today...does it matter if the title changes hands like when I bought the car off the dude or does Mazda still have an obligation?

BTW- anyone know exactly what the recalls were for?

I believe the recalls were (not in any order):

1. Cooling system
2. Fuel lines
3. Mazdaspeed hood latch

As far as the titling goes, it doesn't matter who the owner of the car is... if the recalls haven't been done, they will perform the work.

be careful when you take your car in for recall repairs. I took my 93 FD in for a fuel line recall it was suppose to take one day it ending up taking 5 months. After they performed the recall the car would start and run for about a min. and then die. And it took them 5 months to figure out that it was a broken wire in the engine wiring harness. and when thry do the recall they have you sign a paper that claims that they are not responsible for any damages that are incurred during the performance of the recall. I was fortunate because they didn't have me sign it, only because they forgot. And they had to pay for the harness and not me. but I didn't have my car for almost 1/2 of a year. This happened in Cal. so you might ask them before you hand over your keys!
