How would we know?

Thoroughly clean the area with degreaser and make sure it is spotless. Now drive the car a short distance and then park it. Get under there an examine the area of the suspected leak. Did you find it? Using this method you should be able to pinpoint the area. Common leaks are the tranmission input seal, and output seal.

What fluid is leaking?

If you're not sure, I suggest you take it to a mechanic for diagnosis.

what kind of fluid and is it towards the front or back of your transmission mine started leaking oil from the rear stationary gear so if its oil it could be that but if its a seal on the transmission it wont be that hard to tackle if you are mechanically inclined
