Not a newbie but cant post anywhere else, Cat Delete question

So iv never done a Cat delete and as far as i know they are legal here in Salem aslong as i stay out of Portland, but one thing they crack down on here is sound levels, if i cut out my cats and welded in a piece of pipe how much louder would it get, and can anyone tell me off the top of their head what size the stock exhaust pipes are?

straight pipes will definitely be much louder. get a HFC and be legal. i'm not sure of stock exhaust piping size though.

just removing the cats wont make the car much louder provided you keep the stock muffler on it. straight piping it is for race cars. if you drive your car daily stick to a regular muffler and it wont be much different. depending on which car you have you may need to remove some emissions plumbing after taking the cats out.

You don't on either, if you have an S4 you need the tube connected to activate your aux ports.

If its an N/A then its probably 2".

just leave your cat in. if its a clean cat, the 2hp you will gain are pointless.

I would not your waste time trying to hollow it out. Just buy a midpipe they are cheap. But if I had to guess the stock pipe size is 2.5 inch. The car will be louder but it also depends on what type of catback you have. Some will not be that bad.
