I recently did a five lug swap on my base model '87 after looking at it I decided some new studs were in order as some of them were pretty chewed up. I had enough of the ARP ones on the shelf so I didn't think it was going to be a big deal, but after removing the rear studs on one side I realized that the longer studs wont go in. The hub is right in the way. So naturally I'm rather upset at this point, is there a way to get the longer studs in there without pressing the hub apart?

 

you have to seperate the hub from teh spindle unfortunately, which means you also need new wheel bearings. no way around it.

 

Well that sucks, oh well I hope they have bearings in town or I'm screwed.

 

Well I go them in, sans about an inch of stud. I find it really odd that a notch wasn't cast into th spindle though for this type of deal it seems to me that even factory ones would be a pain.
