Hey my names Courtney!

hello all. I'm Courtney (yea I'm a guy) and I'm currently active duty Air Force (just recently got back from Iraq). I've been working on cars for almost ten years and i just got my first Rx-7. I'm almost 21 and this is my 21st car (very ironic). Its a 81 and its trashed. the body and everything else is in a good condition, but the engine isn't. Its just missing a few parts and has been driven in a long time. Even still, I bought it for $100.00. i mostly got it because i need a new project car, i always wanted to work on a rotary engine........ and to prove a point.

I've been known to buy cheap, beat up cars and fixing them up. Much like my 93 Miata (which i got for $150.), i have big plans for this baby. As i said before, i have a point to prove and that point is that "yes i can turn just about any car i get into a show/event winning car." that is very possible with enough time and money of course.

I look forward to talk and possibly working with you all.

Hi Courtney,
I also got my first rotary (1980) at Kadena AB, Okinawa. I remember some of the speed shops took booze and cigarettes for payment. Looking forward to your build.

I bought my first 7 when I was at hill. It was a 78 right side drive. Some guy brought it back from Japan, and it was sitting since 85. It only had 53000km on it. What a deal....Anyways, what do you do up there? I worked ECM on the 16's.

thanks guys. Yea I'll be posting some pics up later on. right now its all covered in snow lol. i gotta replace the distributor, spark plugs and wires, battery, starter, and 2 other parts. i had planed on replacing all those parts from the start, so its not much of a big deal for me.

oh and I'll also be posting some of the designs i drew up for it.

Welcome back, welcome here, and thanks for your service.

Good luck with the -7; you sound like you enjoy learning new things, and that's good; rotaries are unique. You've come to the right place!

You wouldn't think so, considering you said in the second sentence that you're a guy.

sorry i can't make any promises. the miata on the other now it has some different rims on it, but i plan on redoing the whole car anyway. like a new body kit and paint job. that car was just a rush job so i could drive in style to prom annnnnd i hate the fact that everyone i knew called it a girl car. i'll attach a pic of how it looked when i first got it.

I can't say i like having a normal looking car and paint job. My uhhh "Style" is based on turning a normal car into something completely different.......in looks. I like to take the "what kinda car is that" question/game to a different level. Under the hood however, depends on the car. like my RX, I'm not gonna drop some Ford motor in it like some people are trying to tell me. I'm keeping the it strictly a RX7 engine, nothing else. I might drop a later model engine in it, but thats as far as i'll go....... it will have a few modifications
