CA SCCA ITA, ITS, Pro-7?

i've been looking in to getting in to some sort of race series and ive been looking in to ITS, ITA and was thinking of building a 1st gen, but from what ive heard 1st gens arent that competitive in those types of races? is this true?? does anyone have any info on this? i mean ive looked up quiet a bit of videos on youtube and they seem to be the most cars out there, but then again most of the videos are 2006 or older, or would it be better to just race a 2nd gen?? and i was also looking in to Pro-7 but i cant seem to find the GCR or anytype of rules for them, the newest ive been able to find is 2003 which im sure is outdated correct? does this series not exist anymore? or do we just not have it over here in the west? thanks

Ismael
