Where to buy speakers and head unit??

I used to be all into systems and stuff like 6 years ago and forget good places to buy stuff. I am replacing the head unit and door/dash speakers in my Grand Cherokee. Please list some cheap/good websites to search on. Thanks.

Also, what brands make good head units and speakers now-a-days?

There use to be a place in Augusta called Rolling Thunder that was pretty good. If you want to do it yourself check out woofersetc.com or pricegrabber.com on the internet

Every now and then they have nice sells going on. I pick up a panasonic headunit for $50 off one time.

Alpine has switched suppliers and now their headunits/speakers are not of such great quality anymore, especially when compared to their old stuff. Kenwood and Panasonic have upped their quality control and have some nice headunits out, and Kenwood makes fairly good but cheap small 2 and 4 channel amps, but I'd stay away from the speakers. Sony's still crap, stay away. Infinity's low end stuff is still junk. Rockford Fosgate is still middle of the road and their high end stuff has actually gotten a little worse. JL Audio is still overpriced but they do make fairly good subs. Pioneer makes ok headunits but their speakers are so-so.

What's your budget? What kind of music do you listen to?

If you can get your hands on TMA (Subdivision of JL) they make good quality stuff for a lower price. Lightning Audio is pretty decent. Merlin is right Sony is ****. Legacy, pyramid, and pile is crap. I heard that Profile amps gives you really good bang for your buck but I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet to verify that.

Look up on crutchfield, then buy on ebay. Just did it and saved 50% and it was shipped to my door new.
