Anybody know of any transversly mounted rotaries?

Anybody know about any transversly mounted rotary engines? in anything? One of my goals in life is to put a rotary engine in the back of a first gen MR2. Combine the best of both worlds Mid engine + rotary =

So I need to know if anyone has any transmissions that either bolt up, or are easy to modify to mount up transversly to a 12A or a 13B. I've heard the trans from the first gen MR2 comes close to fitting and only requires minor modifications, but the axles are directly in the way of the exhaust ports... having not seen it, i dont know for sure.

Anybody know anything that might help?

I'd like to do the same thing is a Fiat X1/9, but I've run into the same problems.

You might try Kennedy Engineered(they have a web site.) They make adapters for a lot of engine/trans setups and say that they will make adapters for just about anything, but a custom adapter isn't cheap$$. They have done a lot of custom stuff.
I got an adapter(and custom flywheel, clutch/pressure plate), for my TurboII/'78 Kelmark GT project and it was all quality stuff.

There's a place out east in NJ that builds their own rotaries. My Dad's company did some work for them a while back.

Haha.. Funny you guys should mention this.. I had bought an X1/9 to do the same thing. I even had everything figured out as to mounting and parts and everything, and then i needed some space so I dumped the X. If I can find my notes, i'll post them here.

Check past issues of GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS magazine. They had an article about an X-1/9 with a 13b in it and tearing up in SoloII Autocross compition, about 4 monthsago.

There is a mini race car here in NZ with a rotary in it, and also a road legal front drive 323 wagon with a 12A PP in it.
