What is the difference between a 88 T II front & rear rotor housing? How close to the same are they? Can you use a front in a rear or Visa-Versa what needs to be done to do this properly?
In the process of a rebuild, thank you

The difference is in the air passages for the EGR valve and/or ACV. If you are not concerned about emmissions, then it does not matter which way they go in.
edit: just curious, what kind of conflicting stories were you getting?

I have been told sothing about cooling the turbo, and a hole drilled through in the rear one to cool the turbo? and no hole in the front one.
Then another guy told me they are exactly the same. ?? im just confused now, cause what you just said is the first I have heard of that yet!
damn

Also, I spent over 1 Hr. in the garage the other nite looking at my rotor's and I could see nothing different with my untrained eye. other than one is maked "f" the other is marked "r" ....
they both have the water line for the turbo. but the intake manifold just blocks off the hole on the front one when it's installed.
the difference is the hole in the exhuast ports for emmissions. if you don't have ACV and other emmissions going back on then don't worry.
