putting a civic engine in my fc.

Ha scared you didn't I? No I'm not actually putting a civic engine in my fc. However I do want to put a S5 Tii into it. Its a 91' with a blown engine and the guy before me had put a turbo transmission, drive shaft, and rear end in it. but then he jammed the motor like a dumb@ss! but this meant that i got it for 200 bucks! Well anyways I just had a few questions: If I have everything from the transmission back what do I need? and then where can I find it cheap? and is there anything that is recommended that I do to anything else in the car when I swap it? Thanks for your time.

Search "turbo swap" in the second gen section or better yet go here...

Is this a 5 lug car? if not make it that way.

Make sure the engine is of the same series (looks like you got that part)

Compression test before you buy, and if not just be prepared to rebuild it before you drop it in.

You'll need an after market boost gauge, a new exhaust, and a TII hood (unless you're going front mount)

Most everything you can find for reasonable prices in the "for sale" section.

Awesome buy man. If you've got the whole TII drive train, then all you've got to worry about is the engine... and a few other minor things.

Harness, ECU, engine w/turbo/downpipe/intercooler, boost gauge, TII hood (unless you get a front mount intercooler), and it would probably be a good idea to get some new motor mounts, clutch kit, and make sure you have a TII drivetrain. That's some labor intensive work there. I've had folks lie about changing the brakes, clutch, and tires before and the truth was easily found out by making sure myself.

Get it cheap? Junkyard.

Will it be any good? Probably not.

Will I get a get better motor from a Japanese Importer? They get it from Japanese junkyards. See above.

Will I need to rebuild it? Most likely.

Don't some people get good motors? Yes, some, not everyone.

i know for a fact that the drivetrain is all turbo clutch and flywheel too. not brakes though and no not from a junkyard it was a friend that was pissed at it and hard for cash. and they say they check them and ive heard good things bout these guys but yeah you never know motor mounts are a given (polyurathane no doubt).

**But what ECU???** and what wiring harness is easiest to use?

Can't have a true dual on a turbo motor.

Unless you have two turbochargers to run two sets of exhaust tubing off of.
