CA - Retiring a smog failing vehicle
I was looking at the state's smog website and it said that you can receive $1,000 for retiring a vehicle that can not pass smog.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

Otherwise I can't think of any other way to get rid of the FB aside from paying to have it crushed or giving it away.

Only things of worth left I can imagine would be the Magnaflow muffler, new cat, and RB sway bars. Otherwise interior is gutted, seats are nappy, paint is faded, among other things. I stopped driving it due to a need for carb rebuild and clutch cylinders failing. That and I didn't want to spend the money to make it decent, so rather got a good condition FC.
I tried selling the damn thing with its rebuilt 12A for a super huge loss about two years ago then just PNOed and parked it.
