Hooking aftermarket cd player up in 2nd gen
Hey sup dudes?
I Have an 86 GXL. Came with Cassette and Amplifier thing underneath. I just bought a Cd player, kenwood unit. How would i go about mounting it? I have the cdplayer it self, and the little metal thing that it sits in. But how do i mount it ? Its not huge like the other cassette is.
any help would be appreciated.

Here's a thread that contains diagrams of the wiring to the head unit

You will need an adapter kit for the Kenwood unit to fit into in the dash. You want kit number 99-7501 made by Metra. It has the pieces to complete a nice looking installation, along with the pocket. I came across the Metra site at one point, don't have the link anymore. This should get you started tho http://www.audioonlineoutlet.com/mazda.html
