Does anyone know of someone who does quality paint jobs around the Northern Indiana (South Bend) area? I'd be willing to drive a bit to get to the shop, so the Indy/Chicago area could work if the price & quality were right.

I was quoted around $4,000 by a good body shop to have a full paint & body work done on my 93 FD, but I thought if someone on here knew of a guy that did paint jobs I could save a little $$. Let me know.

 

That's about the same as you'll be quoted by most around this area as I just went through it this winter. Make sure you find out what exactly they're going to do for the 4k.

 

The quote was from Bud's Body shop, who did a full body paing job for my 89 vert, which looked very nice.

I thought maybe someone out there knew of someone who would do it on the side, as opposed to paying shop prices...

 

I just got mine done off mickinly near the train tracks going into miskawaka... michiana auto paint i believe is the name... i spent less then a grand on it and am pretty happy. sounds like you want a more in depth job then mine but its worth a shot and right down the road. by the way i had the lowest "job" done and theres three or four...

 

I know a guy in southern indiana (corydon), he does auto body as a career, he told me he'd paint my FC red for about $500 including body work, which is close to just the price of materials. I'm trying to get in contact with him but his phone number has changed recently. If you've seen any pics anywhere of a gold 1990 GTUs in indiana, he was the one who painted it, it looks beautiful.

My car may have taken a crap... so paint is on hold... but I'll keep this thread & look you guys up next time I might be ready.

 

If you are still looking to paint your car, try Mark's Body Shop in Knox, In. It is about 1 hr drive from South Bend or less. He does excellent work and is usually good priced. Tell him that Josh Nies recomended you! Good luck!
