Nowhere. You pretty much have to pick up the service manual and teach yourself unless you know someone that can help you rebuild it. You can possibly get training if you're a tech at a Mazda dealer but thats a big maybe.

Back in '99, UTI was bombarding me with junk mail and out of curiosity I called them up and talked to someone whos in charge of "new recruits." After he gave me his best sales pitch, I asked if they covered the rotary engine. He sounded pretty insulted by my question and told me "ROTARY ENGINE?! Son, thats a thing of the past. Those engines are old news!". I pretty much hung up on him. I guess he missed the memo about the new upcoming RX-8 with a new rotary engine.

In other words, theres really no place that will certify you to work on these engines. Most of the engine builders I've met over the years are self taught.

no certifications that i know of aside from just mazda training and the only classes they would teach today would focus on the renesis only.

pfff UTI! I heard UTI sucks and like its not worth the money. I remember a few years ago I talk to some guy in UTi and he ask what car i have, i said RX7. He was like o0o those with the V8s I was like no, it has a rotary! He was like i thought they stop making rotaries along time ago. I guess he didnt realize there was the rx8.

Wyoming Tech is a good school they lightly touch on the subject due to the fact of the rx-8 but do specialize in just that field. I plan on going back to finish up what i started. Good school with great potenial, and road for a solid future. Check it out!

What's your point ? With enough Overtime I can make $100k a year @ McDonalds... but I'd have to WORK a HECK of a lot of OVERTIME......

Besides, As a Cop, No Matter how much you make, you'll always just be a Bureaucrat !

No...working 24/7 for a whole year wouldn't get you 100K. In fact, at $7.50/hr, you would just make ~$68K.

That said, 100K isn't anything amazing anymore. Sure, its great money, but not incredible....especially if you have to work a 14 hour day to get it.

I know, I just like to give you **** for being a Cop... It's not often that one gets to do so without "repercussions"!

Just don't get tempted by the "Dark Side" of the Force....
