New exhaust glows red....
New exhaust glows red....
Finally finished my exhaust after findign that the main flange that connects tot he manifold was not straight...anyway, got her running and all is quiet except for a couple of leaks no big deal. But after it idling for 10 minutes or so, the downpipe was glowing red and I mean glowing red.
I have a new set of fuel rails coming which I'm hoping a FPR is including in those rails, not exactly sure where that item is yet and hopefully that will fix her.
Any thoughts...

The only cat on the car as of now is the main which is a "high flow" cat. It's goes...manifold, aftermarket downpipe, high flow cat, and out to the mufflers at the back of the car. So that leaves the clogged cat theory out of the equation.
The car is a '89 vert with fuel injection. So if the car is running a tad lean, where would one start the search for the culprit? The TPS, the FPR, dirty injectors, etc...

Just because you ahve a high flow cat doesn't mean its not clogged, you know....
If its brand new or something thats another story, but you can't tell its not clogged just because its a high-flow cat.
